Camp...

I added some pictures from camp on the right. I have to warn you, the Korean kids are way cuter than white kids so don't disown your boring children after you look at the gallery.

Fan death...

Koreans believe that a person may die if they are in a room with an electric fan running and all of the windows and doors are closed.

They call it "fan death."

One of my fellow English teachers (an American, not a Korean) told me about this and I didn't really believe him so today I asked one of my Korean co-teachers. Once she understood what I was talking about she told me "It is real" and dismissed everything I said so I stopped arguing about it.

This is by far the strangest thing I have learned about Korean culture so far.

Fan death.
Beware.

Curious George...

I always liked Curious George so when I saw one of those books at camp I snatched it to read to my kids as a bedtime story. Look at this.

Awesome.

I wonder if there's a Curious George story where he stumbles upon a bottle of soju. That would be interesting.

Recovering...

I just got back from a 15 day English camp. It was an hour outside of Seoul in the middle of nowhere. We couldn't even find a bar the one time we looked.

Anyway, I spent the last two weeks teaching everyday and I'm totally exhausted. About two days ago I started getting sick. This "sickness" was like nothing I've ever experienced before. I didn't have a cold, cough, sore throat, the shits... none of that stuff.

I had a mild headache and bad stomach along with the rest of my body aching. It felt like I spent a week getting punched all over my body. I think it was probably exhaustion. I spent nearly 20 hours sleeping yesterday and I still feel tired today.

I'll give the camp details when I get some energy but right now I'm gonna go sleep... again...
